If you are having problems using Helping Hand to control your TV or other media device, here are a few steps to try to narrow down the problem

Problem

If you are having problems using Helping Hand to control your TV or other media device, follow the steps below to try to narrow down the problem. If you are still having trouble, email us at support@novalte.ca.

Instructions

First try with your handheld remote control. Your Novalte IR Controller works the same as your regular handheld remote, so first check to see if the issue is with your TV or media device by trying the command with the handheld remote. Sometimes, there may be something blocking the signal from the remote to the device. Make sure that there is nothing covering the front of your TV or media device, as well as the front of your IR Controller

  1. If there is also an issue with your regular handheld remote control, then there is an issue with your TV or media device. Contact the manufacturer of your device for further help. If your regular handheld remote control is working correctly, unplug your IR Controller, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. Wait for the green status light to stop flashing and then try again.
